bookshelves: 2011
Read from January 11 to 13, 2011

Things I generally tend to enjoy reading:
science fiction
books with hype
books that make fun of science fiction
books that make fun of themselves
books that make Star Wars references in the first third

Things I didn't like about this book:
The father/son drama (same for Tron, snooze)
That it was touchy feely rather than sci-fi-tastic
That I don't really understand physics enough to really get this
That I don't really understand future technology enough to really get this

It wasn't a bad book, but I had some pretty unrealistic expectations about it from the reviews that I had read. I was expected more of a Douglas Adams vibe, but aren't I always searching for something to fill that void? As callous as it sounds, I'm really not into male introspective literary fiction unless there is a serious side portion of humor to it, thus negating the fact that it is actually MILF (you like what I did there, eh).
