it was amazing
bookshelves: arctic
Read in March, 2003

it's the book you gotta read if you ever go to the north pole. which i did in 2003 -- with andy revkin of the new york times, whom i would like to point out never made it past 89 degrees north. a chauvinistic russian helicopter pilot opted to fly me to 90 degrees north instead to pick up a band of skiers, a decision for which i am eternally grateful.
