I did really enjoy this book, and it has some great quotes. Unfortunately, my library didn't do a good job of weeding, so I got the 4th edition, rather than the 6th, which came out in the mid-90s. Though the core information is still relevant and vital, many of the more specific resources were dated. While I share his faith, I also found the author's clear bias towards the Christian faith to be annoying at times, and potentially alienating to parents and families of other faiths - when the core message of reading aloud and reading together is the important part!
