Fourteen year old Kevin has been diagnosed with mono and can't attend school or play baseball. He is resigned to the bed for recovery. During this time, he decides to check out reading, even poetry, and journel writing with the urging of his father, a writer. From such endeavors, he learns about his real feelings, girlfriends, teammates and his mother's death. This book is a very honest, clever and often funny look at being a young boy in junior high raised by his father.
