Maine Student Book Award Nominee 2010-2011. Cute story about a curmudgeonly old man who rents a haunted house so he can write a novel, only to find that it's inhabited by not only a ghost but a young boy who is best friends with the ghost. The story is told completely in letters, so it's a quick read. Full of black humor (all the names are a play on ghastly things, like "Barry A. Lyve" and "M. Balm") this one will appeal to a younger crowd. All ends well with a unique family composition.
