So in this book Bonnie becomes the protagonist, she is the one telling the story, and to be quite honest, I prefer her as a secondary character. Damon and Stefan aren't around, and Fell's Church has calmed a bit, until... people start dying again. The plot for this book was good, but not great. I had a bit of an idea before it was revealed, because I watched the TV show. Damon and Stefan come back and find the evil force killing people. I liked the spooky atmosphere that was built throughout the novel, it was written quite well, and the descriptions really set the scene nicely. The ending for me was a bit boring, because I guess I'm a bit of a Damon fan, and he's kind of just shoved off, I didn't feel like he was fully resolved as a character.

Overall, a good book though, but not my favourite of the series.
