An interesting glimpse into the medical field in the late 1800's. A medical student finds himself involved with a mystery surrounding the identity of a cadaver, his professor, a fellow medical student, and a missing woman's best friend. A great historical fiction novel. Who knew heroin was originally marketed as an over the counter drug, and was considered a more important development than aspirin?! The fact that some of the characters turned out to be real people made this book that much more interesting (the author does emphasize this is a work of fiction though). I'm now curious about some of the other books written by this author.
