My Rambles:
I'll start off by saying that I wish I had read the first book in this series. I truly think I would have had a more enjoyable experience. I absolutely love Max and her Blades (basically they are her soldiers and she is their leader - the Prime). I would have really liked to have seen them more. I love how they tease and torment Max, their leader, as though she is their little sister. Alexander I found to be sexy as all get out, and I'm hoping that he doesn't have any ulterior motives!
I think I just would have understood more if I had been able to read the first one. This book seemed like more of a transition piece than anything else. I usually find that with 2nds in a series. There aren't many that I love.
I loved the use of wild magic. I thought it was creative, but again, I didn't understand a lot of it because I didn't fully get who the beings were that were trying to take over the earth.
I think I would have given this book a 5 if I had read the previous one.
3.75/5
