did not like it
bookshelves: fiction, politics, labor

A disappointment. The best thing about Barry's book is that it is a short, fast read. Otherwise it's 90% hyperbolic plot with very shallow characters and little development. There isn't even any gee-whiz techno-gadgets to spice up the rather pedestrian "When Corporations Rule the Earth" theme. I don't know if it's even worth time as trash reading, and I say that as someone sympathetic to atleast some of the social critique the author was making. The best thing to come out of the book, was from a promotional side project for the book... http://nationstates.net .
