Huh, the book ended a bit abruptly since I expected it to be 272 pages long.

Rainbow Boys is about three boys in their senior year of high school. Jason - the jock, Kyle - the shy swimmer, Nelson - out and proud.

The book is told from perspective of all the three boys, giving us insight to how they're all feeling and what they're going through.

I really liked the book even though I had some problems with it. Some people mentioned it in their reviews already but Rainbow Boys feels somewhat dated (mainly the stuff about "on-line things") and sometimes it felt like a PSA. This is what made some of Nelson's storyline hard to believe, because it felt forced so the author could write about the issues he wanted to present. If it would have been worked into the story better I could've appreciated it more but this way it felt out of place.

But over all Rainbow Boys is a good book about, love, friendship, family, discovering who you are and coming out.

However I'm not sure if I'm going to read the sequels, the ending felt like closure even if it was open-ended.
