One of my favorite books. The characters' struggles sucked me in and the issues at hand. How challenging it must be to have a schizophrenic IDENTICAL twin. Such an intriguing plot line. I maybe could have done without the book within a book of Dominick's grandfather, however, even that story was interesting enough to enjoy simultaneously. It was heart-breaking. It was poignant. It was awe-inspiring. The truth with which the author was able to tell the innermost thoughts--the selfless and the selfish--of the protagonist was addictive. I fell in love with Dominick, for all his faults and definitely didn't want to let the book end. It is a thick read, and I am thankful for that...though I think I grew a bit too attached. After witnessing such intimate moments and thoughts, I closed the book truly touched.....
