Read from January 08 to 11, 2011

Throughout the pages, I had a sense of foreboding as the chapters switched between telling the story of Addy Sladd as she lived in the present, and the Addy Shadd as she lived in the past. The prose was beautiful, without being pretentious. The tone was one of hopeful, yet realistic earnest and the storyline was heartbreakingly, yet refreshingly poignant.

Although the undercurrent flowed with sorrow, I was not a sad reader. However, the ending was so bittersweet that my tears did indeed fall. Definitely a good read!
