Lord of Chaos (Wheel of Time, #6)
by Robert Jordan
by Robert Jordan
What was meant to be a glorious trilogy turned into a bloated, never-ending story. As I read the 4th and 5th books, I became quickly disappointed with Jordan's obvious decision to start stretching the series and winging it to bring in a bunch of cash. The breaking point was when I was reading this book, and I got to page 600 realizing that
nothing had happened in the book yet!
I closed the book and cut my losses. My friends on Book 11 wish they had done the same....

I agree with Jake's review. It's a lot of the same, which could have ended books ago.

After a 73 page prologue, you have to start wondering why the extra fluff in writing. I don't know how I read it back in high school. Now I feel the need to skip pages because of the lack of forward movement in the story. But I do like to know how it ends and continue my reread of the the series.
Making a statement that you got to page 600 and nothing had happened yet means you either didn't understand the book OR you didn't read it. Jordans style of writing is very detailed and long. He goes into every detail of swords, paintings, furniture. It's not for everyone, stick to light reading.
Yes indeed. Jordan's style is not for everyone. But he is worth reading for the picturesque depictions alone.
I really don't understand how the characters progress. They seem to take two steps forward then two right back. Supposedly paranoid Rand still trusts every one that says hello. And yes I agree still waiting for a story to progress also. Yes he describes everything but come on describing things which have been already brought up in prior books. If you are reading book 6 then you don't need to know that Perrin and Mary are also
