bookshelves: fairy-tales-and-retellings, young-adult

Robin McKinley's writing, as always, is lovely, but I'm not quite sure that I see the point of "Rose Daughter". McKinley retells -- again -- the fairy tale of Beauty & the Beast... but if you read her first novel, "Beauty", then you've already experienced one version of this already. Frankly, "Rose Daughter" didn't particularly captivate me in the way I've come to expect from McKinley's novels, and I would recommend "Beauty" over this one.
