Great, quick and funny, funny read!

First impression:
I must tell you that I had a horrible day .. so when I started reading this book I just didn't know that it was about to change my day..
Thank you Anna H. for bringing my smile back, and thank you for this story that I like so much.. It's perfect for me: funny, with a lot of sarcasm and great characters, not to mention the fact that it's about a girl that can't drive - I can totally relate to that ;)) ... So I love it so far, and I am so glad that I decided to read it today. This book completely made my day :D

Later Edit:
There are few books that made me laugh this much, and there are not many characters that I liked as much as I did with these ones. One word: FUN!

Elyse was such a nice girl, with all her sarcasm and her (bad)luck. Even if a lot of things were wrong in her life, she still had a positive thinking in some way. She was a good friend, had a great relationship with her mother, and cared a lot about some people in her life. The only problem is that the men in her life (dad, ex-boyfriend) were jerks and she lost her faith in finding a good guy .. for her.
So, we have problem one - she doesn't let boys in her heart/life anymore (even if some would love to be a part of her life/heart and would do anything to deserve it)

Also, Dina, her best friend was a really nice character, even if she was a bit naive and silly. You know, you don't see often good (realistic and nice) relationships between friends in books... and these two girls were really good friends and you could feel this - not only hear it from the main character - and they cared about each other a lot.
This brings us to problem number two: Elyse knows that Dina has to get over her obsession about her jerk ex-boyfriend (because we have this understandment that all ex-boyfriends are jerks, duuh) and find a nice guy to be with.. and she kind of thinks that this 'customer' Patrick... the sweet, funny, kind, amazing Patrick... is the right guy for Dina. Or is he?

In fact Patrick works in the same place, and lives next door to Elyse, and is kind of her driving instructor (and drives her crazy sometimes :p) and Elyse kind of starts to like him .. a lot - what were the odds, huh? And he is amazingly-and-annoyingly nice to her, always there for her, not pushing at all, but waiting for her to figure out that he is that 2% of the men kind and he even sais once that he likes her, but Elyse already got Dina to be interested in him and she wouldn't want to break her heart (like her ex-best friend did to her once), not after all that happened with Damien, Dina's ex.

So things are and get more complicated and as Elyse sais about this kind of romances (talking about a movie): " boy meets the girl, they fall in love but - oh - they can't possibly be together because of some terrible but really very easy-to-resolve misunderstanding [...] "

Now, I know the subject is not new, we've seen this before, what makes this book amazing is how funny it is. I kept laughing all the time, and the writing is really good too, and the conversation is realistic and fun to read, and the story is just sweet... I could have read this near Valentine ;))

I'll tell you this:
I loved Patrick (even if he really was too good to be true, but who cares, right? It's Valentine - every guy should be too good to be true :P) and I loved the moments with Patrick and Elyse (some cute, some sweet, some funny, some hilarious!), and I could totally understand why Elyse tried to make Dina like Patrick, and how she fell for him after that, and why it broke her heart not to be with him because the plot was well constructed (her reasons were expressed in some realistic way - I could feel her struggle, and I understood), and I loved the driving lessons, and the pen-buying-scenes, and the cookies, and Japanese bush, and the furnace problem, and -oh - the song, the stupid-cupid, the parking-cake .. Oh well, you think I'm talking nonsense of course, but you will love all these too :p

So, yeah, I loved it.. it is not profound and it will not change your life in any way (even if it changed my day) ... but it's so sweet and funny.. so the romantic people like me will love it :D

Jasprit adding it to my tbr Ari another great review! I haven't read a fun book in a while :)

Ariana I've read it a while back, but as Valentine's Day is coming along I thought to share it - maybe someone needs a cute romance to read these days ;))
