really liked it
Read in January, 2011

A nice companion guide to some of Michael Pollan's books. This contains a lot of the "rules" for what kind of foods to buy and eat...conventional wisdom mixed with some grandmothers' adages. I thought it was a pretty handy guide, but of course, lacks the substance of Pollan's meatier books (hahaha). Plus, there are quite a few exceptions to the "rules" (not that they were meant to be exactly hard and fast anyway).

Julie patiently waiting....

Jen Reading this now and really appreciate the simplicity of it. I think I will try adopting a few "rules" at a time. The man does make a lot of sense!

Charity Agreed! His books really have helped me shape a lot of my current eating habits.

Jen, if you haven't seen it yet, you must watch the documentary "Food, Inc." about the modern food industry. Michael Pollan contributed a lot to it. Highly disturbing stuff!

Jen Funny you should mention that. I have seen excerpts and want to see it.....and yet don't. I'm afraid I will be disgusted and immediately have to change everything. Even based on the excerpts I have drastically cut meet consumption and have started shopping at the farmer's market. I've been meaning to ask you about your veggie friendly recipes. I'll open a discussion about it on on BF to make it easier.

Charity Sounds great! Would love to discuss. :)
