I really enjoyed this. As a dual citizen being exposed to both, it made really appreciate Canada's mosaic versus the American melting pot. Each piece of heritage and culture is actively kept alive.

Just a really great read. I can see why it won a Newberry.

An aside: I wish this had been an adult novel, so that the whole concept could have been fleshed out a bit more. It was a really intriguing world.
