** spoiler alert ** I've always had a soft spot for Scott Turow and this wasn't that much different than his other legal thrillers, except it involved the same characters as Presumed Innocent, which he wrote 20 years before. And, Presumed Innocent has a pretty significant plot twist that isn't discussed in this book. In my opinion you could read the two in either order and still enjoy them immensely. It was just fascinating how he could tell the story in this book without telling you the outcome of the earlier book and have it be just as captivating.
