Let me start by saying I am a huge David Eddings fan. His Belgariad series is my favorite fantasy series -- more so than even the holy Lord of the Rings trilogy.
That being said, I couldn't stand this book. He reused, recycled and regurgitated his characters and storylines from his more successful works and threw it together into the altogether uninspired Redemption of Althalus.
If you want to read something good -- no, fantastic -- from Eddings, read the Belgariad, a five book fantasy series that begins with Pawn of Prophecy.
