The City of Ember was a very interesting book. It was strange how they picked their jobs with out even saying what they wanted to be. It was based in an underground city called Ember. The book was very easy to read meaning it flowed easily and didn't jump around to much.
Lina Mayfleet is one of the main characters and she get the worst job of all, but one of old friends get the job Lina has always wanted. Doon Harrow is the other main character and he draws the job that Lina has always wanted so he decides to trade. But while working underground he finds a secret passage that leads to a lost world, and Lina has the instructions to get there. Lina, Doon, and her little sister Poppy go on an exciting adventure. I would recommend this book to everybody it is a great action and a part mystery book.
