This is a terrible book. It's just plain awful. I didn't feel anything for any of the characters. I didn't feel as though I had any insight into the main character, which is especially disturbing considering that the book is written in first person. I didn't believe in the author's secondary world. It wasn't explained well, and it simply wasn't logically consistent. It felt as though the author had just cobbled together Dracula, a poor understanding of folklore, aspects of the X-Men comic books, and an Italian cookbook. I mean, a were-oppossum? I ask you? This book is the kind of trash that give fantasy, sci fi, and horror a bad name. Shame on you, Candlewick Press, for publishing this garbage in a transparent attempt to capitalize on the gravy train that is Twilight.
