Hilarious. It swears a little, but it was laugh-out-loud funny. Quick read. I read it in about an hour. Arriving in New York and thinking he could walk on as a writer for the soap opera, "One Life to Live," writer David Sedaris experiences a humbling three-week period trying to make rent as an elf in Macy's Santaland. He recounts - hilariously - the inner machinations and quirks of late-80s Hell on Earth known as Santaland.
