Quality philosophical fantasy with a hint of madness.
If you can read through the first half of the book, you'll be surprised and you'll not regret that you stayed and read on the second half.
It toook me 3 months to get through the whole thing and the beginnings were struggle-full, but the few moments of utter imaginary craziness were worth waiting for.
For me, Strugatskys' "The Snail on the Slope" and "Monday begins on Saturday" (novels which I read one in English and the other one in Polish) are written in very difficult language to follow which is unfortunate as the stories are original and I think I could be enjoying them more if there wasn't something wrong with me or/and if it was easier to read those damn good ideas.
