** spoiler alert ** dave barrys peter and the star catchers is a well formed book about a boy named peter and his journey to an uncharted island in the middle of the ocean.
peter has been sent aboard the never land, a terrible ship, to england where he will live with the other orphans.however, there is a mysterious trunk aboard that he was told not to mess with but peters curiousity gets the better of him. the magic starstuff inside the trunk was a secret and no one was supposed to know about it. an evil pirate named black stash wants the star stuff so he attacks the never land sending both ships into the desserted island. molly, who was also on the never land and knew about the trunk from the begining,was supposed to look after the trunk and protect it. she then became peters friend and helped him recover the trunk, lost in the fight.the natives on the island didnt like the newcomers and said that no one would leave the island once on it. so, molly and peter have to sneak away aboard he fathers ship from england from the pirates the natives and the huge monster named mr. grin.
