Seven teens are trapped inside their school by an epic blizzard. Not all of them will make it out alive...

Great tagline, so-so book.

Although it shares similarities with Susan Beth Pfeffer's Life As We Knew It and Stephen King's The Shining, it doesn't have the life-and-death urgency of the first or the psychological intrigue of the second. Instead, it has a group of stock characters who spend a couple days in a boring and annoying situation, and then a few more days in a slightly more dangerous, but still mostly boring and annoying situation. And then some people die and the book abruptly ends.

Overall, I wish an editor had told the author to take out the numerous wayyy-too-long-and-detailed passages about the pimple on the protoganist's face, and replace them with more conflict and character development, things the book was sadly lacking in. The author is great at creating suspense, but that doesn't count for much when everything ends up being so anti-climactic.

Good for teenage guys (older or younger) who want a survival story.
