I read Mill on the Floss while pregnant with Teddy and Middlemarch while pregnant with Phoebe. This time, I wasn't pregnant with anybody. I was unprepared for how much I would LOVE Adam Bede. So prosaic, so insightful. And a page-turner, too! I'm ready for more not-pregnant-with-anybody George Eliot.

Barbara Good luck. Had to read Mill on the Floss for college and didn't really get into it. Read it last minute as usual. Loved Silas Marner, which I really, really recommend. Liked some of Mill, but probably I should re-read it.
