I wish I could give a book 3.5 stars, because really that's where I'd rate this one. It was a quick read, fun fluff brain-candy type stuff. It definitely isn't anything that makes you think or consider the world around you - just entertainment. That said, because of the reasons stated below I'm onto the next in the series, we'll see where it goes.
My husband has convinced me to give this series of books a try. We often wish we could discuss books, but our tastes are so different we usually don't, this may be an exception. He decided I was open finally to serial fiction as I've been enjoying the Gunslinger series by King, and this is a bit different from the standard fantasy fare he usually reads, a little more like the horror novels I tend to like for "fun" reading. So far I'm enjoying it as a fun read.
