4.5 stars. The writing style took me a couple chapters to get used to, but this author's voice is as unique as it is amazing. Each character was well developed and distinctive, and I loved that Ms. Eden kept me guessing right until the end about who the killer was. Even better was the way she wrapped up all the various threads in the story and gave each a satisfying conclusion. And those scenes involving Sam and the killer at the lake were so vividly portrayed I actually felt sick to my stomach while reading them. This book's not for the faint of heart, but without all the graphic detail it wouldn't have done the story, or the characters, justice. Ms. Eden did a remarkable job with this book. A very fast paced read and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
