This was one of my favorite books as a kid. I read it several times. It is about a girl with unusual silver eyes who has telekenetic powers. Her mother worked in a chemical plant while she was pregnant and that is offered as the explanation. It is fun to watch her find her place in a world that does not take kindly to unusual abilities. After reading this book I would try to move things with my mind too. It's harder than it looks from reading this. I felt it was a good way to spend the summer of my 10th year, trying to levitate objects and keep a candle flame from moving. Good times.
