This story incorporates elements of "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland", but with a futuristic twist. It's like "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" meets "Star Wars".

Alyss Heart's parents are killed by her evil aunt Redd, who takes over the kingdom (queendom, actually). Alyss must team up with the "good guys" in order to defeat her aunt, and taker her place as rightful ruler of Wonderland.

I enjoyed the blending of old - Alice in Wonderland, with the new - sci-fi elements, reminisent of Star Wars.

Overall, I thought that the book was good, but it did have some drawbacks. It took me a while to get into it; it wasn't until about two thirds of the way through that I actually started getting interested in it, but once it did start to get exciting, it was a roller coaster ride until the very end.

If you like "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass" and you also a sci-fi buff, then definately check out this book.
