really liked it
bookshelves: contemporary, mystery

Another great mystery by Indridason. Inspector Erlendur and his group of detectives are trying to solve two parallel cases involving child abuse. One is an adult murder victim who had been pushed as a child star and had lost out on his childhood as a result. The other victim is a young boy who refuses to testify against the person who is physically abusing him. The first case of abuse was many years in the past, but had a profound lifetime effect on the victim. However, both cases involve parental abuse, either mental or physical. As in his other books, tragic events from the past haunt several of the book's characters.
