by Richelle Mead (Goodreads Author)
It is winter time in Vampire Academy but that doesn't stop evil from intervening with Rose Hathaway's plans. There was an attack that sends terror through the school and in effect causes many guardians to scatter around the school halls, watching vigilantly, including Rose's legendary mother, Janine Hathaway. Rose isn't so thrilled to reunite with her long absent mother again. However, the school ski trip seems crucial to try to escape the perils that lies ahead. But little do they know, troubles awaits them at the ski slopes...
Alluring and entertaining, Vampire Academy takes you to a unfamiliar territory and new mind blowing plot. First off, the change in setting, really took effect to me, because it showed a new side to the characters and how they react and interact with each other in new surroundings. For this, we get to see a new side of each character and how they grew from the previous installment of Vampire Academy. Overall, I was pleased with this book because after reading the first one, I wasn't sure of what to expect. I love how Mead added new characters and furthered the relationships for Rose. Everyone loves to see a love triangle in a book and for the new addition, this added a different type of readers and viewers. Overall, I like this book because of its change of setting and the ability to see the character's growth since the previous book.
