There's no way to put it nicely: "Red Riding Hood" was an absolutely terrible book. The writing was poor, the story was confusing and so badly focused it was hard to tell what was going on, and there wasn't a single likable character in the book. The really terrible thing is that there'd be glimmers of potential in the book, but it was squashed by the ridiculous love triangle and horrible prose. I've read plenty of novelizations based on movies before, and none of ever been this bad.
