Oh boy! I'm sorry I waited so long to read this one. Granted, I had a lot of books on Mount Toberead, but I really should have known that this would be something special.

The Lincoln Lawyer returns. Mickey Haller, who runs his practice from the back seat of a Lincoln Town Car, is back, suddenly going from zero to hero as he takes over the practice of a comrade unavoidably retired. He's got a big trial coming up and a client who won't accept delay.

Every chapter brings a new complication and some days are very stressful for poor Mickey.

Even more stressful when he finds he has to work with a prickly old cop - a cop familiar to every fan of Michael Connelly's detective tales.

I loved this. The courtroom drama is superb and the tension never lets up. There are twists and conflict and interest with every page. Honestly, I could hardly put this down, and I virtually read it at a sitting.

A few niggles. I found the role of the senior judge very hard to swallow. And the final twist right at the end, hmmmmm.

Oh well, no matter - we'll see more of Mickey Haller, I'm sure!

Rebekkila I liked the first book in this series a lot. I'm not happy that they have cast Matthew McConawhatever is Haller, he turns all his characters into a dude. (but I will probably see it anyway.)
