I thoroughly enjoyed The Friday Night Knitting Club, but I found Comfort Food to be slow and boring. The story centers on a 50 year old woman and her two grown daughters. The woman is a television cook in jeopardy of losing her job to younger and more exciting cooks. I found the premise to be interesting, but Jacobs's approach was too much comfort.
