Read from December 30, 2010 to January 09, 2011 — I own a copy, read count: 1

I have to say that the last third of the book was really good. I debated on whether or not to give it three or four stars. I settled on just three because most of the book was worth just three stars. The last third of the book was worth four stars, though.

Since this is the first in a series, and things end just as they're gettin' good, I'm willing to bet that the next book will be a four star book. =)

I really liked the story idea: a mysterious house that has rooms that lead to other worlds. What the original purpose of these worlds and rooms are, we're not told yet, but it had the impression of a hotel with rooms for having various adrenaline-packed adventures. Very cool. Except for when the bogey man comes out from the rooms and carries your mom away, as he does in the story opener!

Definitely getting the next book to see how the story continues.
