Robert Crais performs his magic again with The First Rule in crafting a powerful story about friends, loyalty, and revenge.

Crais' character, Joe Pike, takes center stage in this work, a man intent on avenging the murder of an old friend and his family.

The secret lies with a group of Serbians. Pike knows they murdered his friend...the question is "why"? When a young Serbian prostitute, Rina, discloses the reason behind the murders, Pike will not rest until the guilty pay.

A gripping story that I highly recommend.
