Karen Marie Moning is an excellent romance writer. Her Highlander Series of Romance novels are unique and interesting. All of her books are page-turners that you just can't put down - or get out of your mind until you've finished the last page, but 'The Immortal Highlander' is by far, at least for this reader, one of the best of the series. Adam Black is a Tuatha De Danaan - a highly advanced race of immortal beings that settled in Ireland thousands of years before the birth of Christ. Adam is a prince within this race, and one of the blackest amongst the Fae. He has a reputation for being sexy, seductive, and irrestistable, as well as dangerous and sadistic - eager to 'play' with humans for his own amusement. However, in this sixth installment of the Highlander Series, we see Adam Black for who he really is deep down inside, and find out why he's done the things he's done. This time he falls hard for a modern-day human, Gabrielle, and all hell breaks loose. Not only does he fall in love with Gabrielle, but she him - and the reader will as well. I've enjoyed all of Moning's novels, but this one was the first that made me cry at the end.
