Shadow Puppets (Shadow, #3)

When I first watched the entire Star Wars collections (yes, including those terrible rip offs), the only redeeming parts of 1-3 was the moment where the light went on and I realized that, in fact, the entire story had been more about Anakin Skywalker as opposed to Luke, and it allowed me to look at 4-6 quite differently. I am beginning to have that same sensation here. Is this series really about Bean at all? Or is this our own version of "The Hegemon" (though apparently much longer than the Ender is supposed to have written)? As the series continues, Bean goes from being one of my favorite characters in the Ender-verse to being a reason to no longer hate Pete's 2-dimensional nastiness. And Achilles goes from being a awesome bad guy to being a "look how much worse it COULD be" to make Peter look good. Still liking it, but not as much.
