1. Management: Capitalize on Uniqueness
a. What does this mean? Good managers don’t make their employees fit into the model of a job description. Rather, they pay attention to their employees behavior, attributes, etc. and create/customize positions that fit their interests.
b. Action for me: I need to figure out how I can better utilize the “loud/social” ushers, rather than trying to get them to be more focused. How can they be repurposed as programs, etc. to capitalize on their engaging personalities?
2. Leadership: Drive Clarity
a. What does this mean? A strong leader is able to take an ambiguous and complex problem and drive clarity for an organization. They are able to break things into digestible stages and communicate about each stage clearly and directly.
b. Action for me: ECC moves very quickly. I need to help volunteers see the bigger picture and drive clarity to explain “Why” we do what we do and how their role fits in the big picture. I need to make the volunteer roles EASY to understand.
3. Personal Success: I like it!
a. What does this mean? Figure out what I like doing and do more of it! Determine what I enjoy/what drives me and structure my work, etc. to do more of it.
b. Action for me: I love ECC, I love leading in this place. This is what I talk about when I share about the last two years of my life. I need to continue to invest and slow down to really know people in this community.
