I was hoping for a few hours of mindless fun when I picked this book. It didn't disappoint me but it didn't excite me too much either. The plot was your standard Scottish Highlands fare (big taciturn laird and fair feisty English maiden clash and fall in love) with appealing characters, though dialogs were pretty silly. Overall it was a quick enjoyable read. If you look for something that is thought provoking, then you must look elsewhere.
