As always here is what Amazon.co.uk says about Magic Bleeds:

Atlanta would be a nice place to live, if it weren't for the magic. When the magic is up, rogue mages cast their spells and monsters appear, while guns refuse to fire and cars fail to start. But then technology returns, and the magic recedes as unpredictably as it rose.

Kate Daniels works for the Order of the Knights of Merciful Aid, officially as a liaison with the mercenary guild. Unofficially, she cleans up the paranormal problems no one else wants to handle--especially if they involve Atlanta's shapeshifting community.

When she's called in to investigate a fight at the Steel Horse, a bar midway between the territories of the shapeshifters and the necromancers, Kate quickly discovers there's a new player in town. One who's been around for thousands of years--and rode to war at the side of Kate's father.

This foe may be too much even for Kate and Curran, the Lord of the Beasts, to handle. Because this time, Kate will be taking on family...

I really really liked this book however it did have some major flaws. I think that the ebbing of Kate and Currans relationship and how that was handled was handled well but at the same time I feel like Kate was kind of overshadowed by Curran in the end. His needs over hers, and overshadowing her Independence and her spark and myself and her readers love so much. I loved the introduction of the attack poodle. Grendel was great and made Kate seem a little more human and a bit more human and not so paranormal.
This is one of my favorite series and I think its in real danger of becoming another "Anita Blake" where it starts out being very kick ass and very Urban Fantasy and being all swords and Blood, then becomes paranormal romance because our heroine becomes completely dependent on the man or men in her life as the case may be. Needing his approval to function. I seriously hope that this doesn't happen to this series, but only time will tell.
