really liked it
bookshelves: fiction, 2000s-fiction
Read from March 11 to 13, 2011

A quick read that left me sentimental - a lesson in carpe diem. Easily comparable to Nick Hornby's style of writing; smart, wry, and just enough pathos to not leave you a sopping mess of emotion. I read this book and felt the urge to tell all the people around me that I love them. The characters were so real... just like people you know in everyday life. Good writing, because I even saw myself in these characters...

Just saw that there is a movie adaptation of this one coming out Summer 2011 with Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess:

Donura I just saw the trailer for this movie today and I am a big Anne Hathaway fan which made me want to read the book before I saw the movie. With your comments, I know now I will have to read it soon. Thanks.

Lauren @Donura - it is an atypical romance. Well-written book that you will be able to read pretty quickly... I had a hard time putting it down. Enjoy!

Allan Just checking out some reviews of this book as it is on my summer hols list to read. Thanks for the review- looks like a "feel good" book which is what you need on hols!
