Honestly, a bit of a disappointment given both the author and the subject matter. The intro portions were enthralling - why the bridge was built, the background of the engineer, etc - as were the portions about the giant caissons and the dangers involved. But then the story gets bogged down in the politics of the Board of Directors, and once the successful completion of the bridge is a forgone conclusion, it become a tough slog. An amazing subject and a writer with a great track record, but not as great as it should have been
