First of all, this book is truly like nothing i've ever read before. These fairies don't have wings. In this book, they establish that these fairies are plants, and they sprout a flower from their back yearly. I mean, this book totally contradicts everything you thought you knew about fairies, which makes it so unique.
It was so odd, but compelling at the same time. i found that it had some drama suspense. and it had a love story to it also. that's what made me like this book, despite the odd, and frankly a little creepy in a beautiful kind of way, aspects of it.
One thing i was excited to hear about this book is that it's being made into a movie, then i heard something that kind of dulled my excitement. Miley Cyrus is playing the main character Laurel. no no no. Laurel is supposed to be blonde and pale. and she's supposed to have this fragile and willowy quality to her. Miley Cyrus is nothing like her. I will however, see this movie. I will be curious to see the way they portray the characters, and the setting and graphics.
I like the second book better. It was sexier, there was more love story. this book was basically centered on her trying to balance her fairy life, and her human life. Meaning she's learning how to balance Tamani and David

by the way: In my review of the first book i said that i was pro-Tamani/Laurel. not David/Laurel. But on this rare ocasion i'm just not that sure. Usually i have preferences in a book. But i'm just not sure for this book and i like that.
Can't wait for the next book
