Mary Russell meets retired Sherlock Holmes when she's 15 and they quickly strike up a friendship. She is every bit as brilliant as he is and becomes his apprentice while solving cases with him. Things take a turn for the sinister when they become the target of a villain looking for revenge.

It was well written. I probably could have gotten even more out of it if I was familiar with Sherlock Holmes beyond what Rober Downy Jr. taught me. I still enjoyed a lot. The sweet relationship that develops is my favorite part. I thought the first half was a tad slow but still interesting. The second half picked up and it had a great ending.

Krystal These are my thoughts exactly, I couldn't have said it any better.
