What a horrible disappointment. I was sucked in by the beautiful writing and ornate description. However, it quickly became tiresome. After a single chapter, I quickly realized that the author was about to take me on a 200+ page journey of lingering, verbose dialogue that never really really gets to the point. As a captive reader, I felt taken advantage of. But I pushed on through the chapters, hoping beyond hope that the storyline would get better. Or that the characters would become more likable. Instead, it is a triad of three sexually obsessed characters who have very little meaning in their lives. There is little else in the way of plot. I can't believe I finished it! Avoid this book, unless you want to waste a few days of your own life reading about the driveling lives of three worthless characters. But if you enjoy aesthetic language above all else, even a good storyline, then have at it.
