I've been aware of Meridian since it was released in hardback but I kept putting off buying it, not wanting to pay the hardback price. I'm glad that I did. I did enjoy the book, but I wouldn't have thought it was worth the extra cash.

Meridian's story was a unique one, which is increasingly hard to come across in today's YA market. The characters were charming and impossible not to like. The storyline kept me on my toes, a tad predictable but not blatantly obvious.

The only thing I took fault with was how quickly Meridian accepted everything. Each new revelation or piece of the puzzle she unlocked seemed to happen instantly with little effort. It felt too coincidental for me, not enough work or road works for the character.

It was enjoyable and I would read the next in the series.
