I'm having a love-hate feeling about this story. I was interested in reading it when I found out it's about Lady Daniela and Devlin. They were an intriguing couple whom I first read about in the second book in this series (The Mark of the Vampire Queen).

This one has more BDSM, the characters were way different from Lyssa and Jacob. The sex was rougher and though the author wrote a good love story on this one, the story dragged. The setting (Outback Australia and other cities) didn't captivate me. Maybe it's Lyssa's unpredictability that made me want to read more, because Danny is a bit soft for vampires.

There were a lot of Aussie slangs in here but I understood them fine with the help of the internet. There were scenes I couldn't stand reading but I still did, because it was written well. Devlin has a tragic past and it's fate that brought them together in that secluded bar in the Outback. I liked him a lot, his soul is scarred and he matched well with Danny.

I don't know what else to write, I guess I'm still dazed by the extremes.
