Fantastic story of a young brilliant girl who is too smart for her own good, finally thinks she's found her place with a brilliant reclusive author, and then is suddenly, coldly tossed out. People heard in advance that she was working on a memoir and criticized it before it even came out, which did a disservice because she tells her story (and it IS her story) so well and with such a dispassionate eye. The challenge in writing a memoir is knowing what to leave out and what to put in. She puts in some seemingly small yet telling details that really place you in her head and in the time. I recommend this for all young writers, and anyone struggling to fit in.
